||
ography on the training of the singing voice in existence, it was necessary to compile one for the purposes of this study. A comprehensive bibliography was indispensable, inasmuch as all the concepts were derived entirely from the published statements of authors, teachers, scientists and singers. The 702 items listed hereafter include 164 books and 538 articles. There are also 72 scientific papers and experimental reports and 66 published interviews and articles by professional singers. Seven historical and musical reference books containing useful vocal information are also included. The ten asterisked items that were not used in this study include repetitions of previously listed items and commercial and non-pedagogical publications. The bibliography was annotated insofar as it was relevant to the problems of training the singing voice. Twelve supplementary references are listed separately, following the annotated bibliography. |
